Modern technology means you're never too far away from the office to check in, in fact it's likely that your boss spent his bank holiday weekend checking his email thanks to remote access technology. Two-thirds of British bosses take a BlackBerry or other device to access work-related emails whenever they go away on holiday, with 46 per cent of executives checking their emails at least once a day. The study by The Aziz Corporation found that far from viewing mobile devices as intrusive the majority (77 per cent) viewed them favourably. The survey does, however, also highlight a widespread concern, with 75 per cent of respondents believing that remote access technology reduces the amount of face-to-face time spent communicating with colleagues and clients.
