It seems that those of us blessed with good looks can command a more attractive salary – as US researchers reveal that office beauties can earn up to 15 per cent more than their less attractive peers. According to the study: “The beauty premium is not due to the actions of attractive people, but seems to be due to the expectations of how attractive people will behave”. It seems that there is an assumption that beautiful people are more cooperative and helpful and so deserve a bigger paypacket.
