Your boss may be as cool as a cucumber when it comes to speaking to colleagues but put them in a public speaking situation and it seems it’s a different story. According to new research from The Aziz Corporation 71 per cent of business executives worry about addressing a large conference and 80 per cent would be scared of the prospect of a TV interview. Fifty eight per cent of those interviewed revealed that they are worried they will bore the audience and unfortunately they have good cause for concern - speakers rarely capture their delegates’ minds as 60 per cent of attendees daydream about sex while listening to presentations. Good public speaking requires practise so if your boss falls into the 71 per cent of terrified presenters suggest he arms himself with a communications coach to improve his skills.
