Western Australia has hit an all time high for the numbers of international visitors. In the 12 months up to June 2007 international visitor numbers grew by 3.7 per cent. Brits accounted for the largest number of visitors, making up 27 per cent of travellers, then Singapore (10 per cent), New Zealand (7 per cent) and Japan (7 per cent). The increase in visitors from Singapore is most likely thanks to the launch of Tiger Airways travelling between the two destinations. Tourism Research Australia figures revealed that business visitors make up 14 per cent of all passengers to the region.
