A survey has revealed that job seekers who follow up an interview with a handwritten thank you note are the most likely to be employed. The survey, from OfficeTeam, found that 88 per cent of managers would think more highly of a candidate who had taken the time to put pen to paper after an initial meeting. However, despite the majority of potential bosses appreciating the sentiment fewer than half of job hunters make the effort to follow up an interview. Managers who took part in the survey commented that notes could do a long way to correcting any negative impressions or nervousness that came across in the interview.
