The federal Government is encouraging workers to take their full annual leave entitlement with the ‘No Leave, No Life’, campaign. Currently $31 billion worth of annual leave is not taken and the new campaign aims to give new life to the concept that workers who take holidays return to work feeling invigorated, energetic and more satisfied with their lives which consequently makes them better workers. The move would also benefit employers as if staff use their leave as it builds up, it prevents them having to pay out more than it was worth in the future, than when it was first accrued, due to payrises. To help breathe life into the floundering economy the Government is also promoting taking holidays within Australia, rather than overseas.
