As 2008 will see fewer people changing their jobs but more vacancies arising this will be the year of sneak tactics to lure people into jobs. According to Australian Bureau of Statistics figures around 40 per cent of people who commenced a new job in July were not looking for a change in their position. This leaves recruiters facing too few candidates for the many roles they need to fill. Employers are predicted to try to lure people away from their jobs in to a new role with the promise of better pay or great benefits. According to Recruitment and Consulting Services Association 88 per cent of members will be adopting the practice of approaching passive candidates (ie those who are not really looking for a new role) to fill jobs.
