Your boss may demand a tighter rein on budgets but would they be prepared to forsake comfort if it mean saving a few dollars? There’s cost cutting and then there’s cost cutting, and bizarrely Ryanair’s standing room only flights appear to have got the thumbs up from customers. When questioned, 66 per cent of 120,000 respondents said they’d stand on a short haul flight if it meant a free ticket, while 42 per cent said they’d agree to pay a fee for the privilege of standing up for a flight. We’d imagine though that business users would be less enthusiastic – after all who really feels rested and ready for a big meeting if you’ve had to stand up for the duration of your flight? So, what do you think of Ryanair’s plans? Would you be prepared to book standing room only flights for colleagues, and would you use them yourself? Email us and let us know.
