From March the carrier will be losing seven of its 98 services a week, in a bid to weather the economic slowdown. Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide are the affected routes, and the airline has confirmed that it would make further cuts if necessary, following close monitoring of demand for flights. Singapore Airlines recorded a 7.5 per cent drop in passenger numbers in the month of December, though it is planning to take measures to stimulate the market with price-driven specials.
