When times are tough you might think that staying late will do wonders for your reputation and help protect your career… while that might be true it could also be harming your long-term sanity. According to the University of Sydney full time workers are putting in an average of 44 hours a week and now research from Finland has highlighted that by exceeding this workers are putting themselves at risk of dementia. The research has found that spending more than 55 hours a week at work could result in poorer short term memory and less ability to recall words as well as cognitive impairment – a risk factor associated with dementia.
