The predicted national skills shortage could see many workers taking home a significant increase in their pay packet soon
According to the Clarius Skills Index, prepared by KPMG the average annual Aussie wage could grow by $8,200 over the next three years. The report has revealed that in some industries a skills shortage has already started to make its presence felt, and that in the near future is will be more widespread and help to drive down unemployment rates and force up salaries. Over the next six months or so the unemployment rate is set to drop below five per cent, while the next three years is also predicted to see a 5.4 per cent increase in annual earnings.
