Australian businesses are failing to invest in their staff and it’s impacting on their business success. A joint survey from Kelly Services and CareerOne.com.au found that although the majority of organisations were aware of the need to achieve, build and sustain a high performance workforce, too few firms were actually investing the time, money and resources needed to achieve this.
This lack of effective people performance strategies meant that while employee turnover remained low in 2009, six per cent of corporations had turnover rates that exceeded 31 per cent. A lack of good people management was identified as the biggest barrier to building a high performing culture.
