When it comes to getting results the message is clear - Australian employees prefer face-to-face meetings over the more technically advanced method of video conferencing.

Three quarters of Australian business travellers stated that meeting face-to-face was the most effective way to run a business, with many saying that modern technology is a poor substitute. Of those questioned only 11 per cent say they prefer video conferencing, despite its obvious advantages of saving time, money and being a more eco friendly option. So why are Australia’s businesses returning to old fashioned methods? Well there’s a lot to be said for ‘face time’. It offers a chance to build real bonds for an effective relationship which just can’t be formed via video conferencing - which can be stilted, doesn’t always allow time for the niceties and can leave participants feeling somewhat distant to other participants.
