Do you expect your employer to pay for your training or are you willing to take matters into your own hands?

According to new research from Kelly Services more and more Aussies workers are prepared to invest in their skills by funding their own training instead of waiting for their employer to cover the cost. The Kelly Global Workforce Index questioned people across the world, including more than 20,000 Australian workers and found that 75 per cent of employees would pay for their own training. PAs working in Australia are also becoming ever more aware of the need to create a personal ‘brand’ to enhance their employability. When questioned those surveyed said the most important elements of doing this were: verbal communication skills (70 per cent); technical knowledge (62 per cent); resumes (61 per cent); written communications (59 per cent); personal attire (56 per cent) and use of social media (35 per cent).
