MICE Industry Shines at Australian Business Expo

MICE Industry Shines at Australian Business Expo

Thousands of event organisers have attended Australian Business Events Expo 2010 and, in a sign of growing strength in the market, exhibitors have reported strong business dealings on the floor.

The strong attendance is testament to the optimism present in the meetings, incentive, conference and exhibition market across Australia.

The solid traffic of event buyers on the floor has been great for exhibitors. Business Relationship and Communications Manager Julie van der Weegen and her team from Doltone House have been very busy dealing with enquires.

“It’s probably the busiest tradeshow I’ve seen,” said van dee Weegen.

“It’s hectic – but that’s good. I think the market is really picking up and gaining momentum – which is terrific to see.”

Exhibitors also reported serious buyers coming through the show; people with significant events and budgets to spend, noted Tanya Brown, National Business Development Manager, Staging Connections.

“Yesterday we took lots of immediate leads.

“We’ll definitely be converting solid business from the Expo this year. It has been a great experience for us,” she said.

Event Manager Gabrielle Stephens is thrilled with the outcome of the Expo for the exhibitors and visitors alike.

“This show is about bringing together different parts and places of the Australian MICE industry– and its success this week shows that event organisers have appreciated the chance to come and discover what’s out there.

“The work the team has done to draw together the different aspects of the industry; from the venues, the suppliers, entertainers and corporate buyers, has really paid off,” said Stephens.

The enormous 21 piece chandelier above the Limelight Lounge formed a stunning centrepiece for the show, drawing visitors into Australian Business Events Expo from its neighbouring sister show, RSVP Sydney.

Now in its second year, the co-location of the shows has proven to be a very successful strategic move by the event organisers, Exhibition and Trade Fairs. The co-located event is sure to continue being a cornerstone in the Australian events industry.

Australian Business Events Expo returns on 10-11 August, 2011 at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre.
