Over 3,000 event professionals gathered at RSVP Melbourne last week for two productive days of networking, education and research.
RSVP Event Talks were a great success. Over 850 people heard from leaders of a range of industries – from food and beverage, marketing, social media and, of course, events.
‘We have been extremely pleased with the response to the Talks; it shows people are eager for information, guidance and insights into running excellent events,’ said Georgia Blakeney, Event Talks Manager.
Delegates explored the many features of the show including The Shine Stage, where corporate entertainers performed live, and the Bite Tastings, roaming samples of event catering.
The business networking continued on after the show closed, when the exhibitors and VIPs moved on to RSVP After Dark, the party for RSVP Melbourne at the iconic Old Melbourne Gaol.
The historic venue was transformed into a spectacular event space through the collaboration of leading event producers, entertainers, caterers and lighting magicians. The theme took full advantage of the historic penal building and provided a criminally good time for guests.
Hundreds of VIP event industry figures were happily imprisoned for a unique networking opportunity. Cockney guards lead the guests into gaol cells and new connections flourished among the inmates. One uncooperative prisoner was hoisted high over the gaol by his feet, staging an amazing escape from a straight jacket as he swung through the air.
The NSW events industry will have its own opportunity to connect at RSVP Sydney, which will be collocated with Australian Business Events Expo at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre on 22-23 July, 2010. Pre-register here for your free entry.
