Customs House:

Customs House is a multi award winning function venue on the river – a Brisbane heritage icon! The spectacular building is a cultural, educational and heritage facility of The University of Queensland. 

Customs House has unique facilities for all styles of functions. The prestigious Queen Street location and facilities combined with professional staff and service makes Customs House one of Brisbane’s premier function venues.

Behind the grand Corinthian columns you will find seminar rooms, a boardroom, private dining room and a spectacular ballroom. Professional catering is available from 6 to 300 persons.  

The Sylvia Jones Boardroom and the Reid Dining Room are show pieces featuring art work from The University of Queensland Art Museum plus quality glassware, silverware and napery for dining and quality bound accoutrements for meetings. The Lady Thiess Room is suitable for seminars as well as dinners while the Art Gallery Room is wonderful for dinners and cocktail receptions. The Art Gallery Room also features artwork from the UQ Art Museum including works by Margaret Olley.

The Long Room, serene and majestic beneath the building’s huge copper dome, is the perfect setting for large functions. The Long Room has access to the Coles Myer Balcony overlooking the river and the Story Bridge.

A dedicated team of event co-ordinators are available to assist you to plan your event while our kitchen team and banquet staff will ensure that your event is a memorable occasion – an event which your guests will be talking about long after they leave.

A restaurant is located on the river level of the building. The relaxed ambience is popular with tourists, business clients and local customers. Guests can be assured of excellent food, fantastic river views and friendly professional service.

You can access Customs House via Queen Street or along the River Boardwalk. The Riverside CityCat terminal is near by as are bus stations and Central railway station.
