Location, Location, Location
The Whitsundays is spoilt with some of Australia’s most beautiful scenery. 74 islands with picture perfect views from every angle, and the adventure of the World heritage listed Great Barrier Reef.
Climate
The weather is beautiful in the Whitsundays. Positioned on the same latitude as Rio de Janeiro and Tahiti the Whitsundays enjoys a tropical climate, with daily temperatures varying little from month to month. The days are warm year round and evenings sultry in summer and cooler in winter but only requiring a light jacket. Water temperatures remain a welcoming 25C all year round.
Access
Access is made simple with two airports, one on Hamilton Island and one on the mainland. The Great Barrier Reef Airport on Hamilton Island receives direct flights daily from Cairns, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane while the Whitsunday Coast Airport on the mainland receives daily direct flights from Brisbane.
Value for money
The islands and coastal mainland offer value for money, with accommodation options ranging from 3.5 to 5 stars. Free activities available for delegates can include: paddle skis, canoes, catamarans, golf, trapeze, archery and fishing.
