Executive PA Members experience the unique event facilities of the Australian Museum


The Australian Museum may not usually be thought of as somewhere to host your events, but the recent member event has changed all those perceptions.

Guests to the Australian Museum’s member event were treated to welcome drinks which were served on arrival in Westpac Long Gallery while they had the opportunity to view the exhibition 200 Treasures of the Australian Museum. Guests were then taken on a venue highlights tour, viewing the most popular gallery spaces for hire including Wild Planet and First Australians.

The guests were then split into three groups and surprised with a behind-the-scenes tour visiting the collections of Malacology (molluscs & shells), Ornithology (birds) and Marine Invertebrates (lobsters & crabs) with real scientists, researchers and collection managers.

After a quick tour the guests were taken to the Museum’s rooftop venues, No.1 William and Harbour View Room & Terrace, to enjoy canape’s and martinis and experience a Touch Table – a variety of collection items out for guests to interact with.

The evening was a success, with guest thoroughly enjoying themselves in the unique venues the museum has to offer. Guests raved about the behind the scenes tours – many didn’t know the Australian Museum is also an active research institute with a collection of over 18 million objects!
