Suppliers reveal how to make the most out of your event

Executive PA Media hosted a session at the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event’s (AIME) Ideas Academy, talking with executive assistants can get the most out of their suppliers.

John Grealy, Head of Sales & Strategy at Doltone House and Frank Scifo, Senior Manager Meetings & Events at Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre shared their experiences, tips and lessons on how to get the most out of your event partners.

Grealy and Scifo both expressed that a clear, honest, and transparent relationship with a supplier will always make an event organising process smoother and more successful.

They emphasised that trust and loyalty, on both the supplier and the EA’s end, will ensure that both parties will walk away from a successful event. They also stressed the importance of a fleshed out brief, that outlines your exact needs – so the event supplier can meet them with confidence.

Frank Scifo – Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre

The audience heard how important it is to ensure that quotes are comprehensive and contain to read a quote thoroughly, and ensure the needs are covered. Sometimes, a cheaper supplier may end up costing more at the end of the event – with elements like AV often omitted from the original price.
