Kingfisher Bay Resort treats members to their great outdoors

After a leisurely drive from Brisbane then short 45-minute ferry ride, Executive PA Media members were on Fraser Island, ready for an unforgettable wilderness adventure.

Upon arrival at King sher Bay Resort, lunch was served in the Seabelle garden, followed by a site inspection of the purpose-built eco resort. Guests toured the array of versatile event spaces, scenic outdoor venues and accommodation styles, with options for intimate group getaways, right through to large-scale corporate events.

Next on the agenda was the Bush Tucker Talk & Taste experience. Guests sampled a selection of Australian native ingredients, many of which are grown on the island, as the chef and ranger demonstrated how these are utilised in the resort’s restaurants.

The next day began with a hearty buffet breakfast, followed by a full-day 4WD tour of Fraser Island. The expert guide traversed the sand tracks, covering the island’s most iconic sights, from tranquil rainforests, golden sand blows, the historic Maheno Shipwreck and 75 Mile Beach. Some guests swam in the crystal-clear Eli Creek and, of course, the pristine waters of Lake McKenzie.

They toasted to a wonderful day in the great outdoors with drinks at The Sunset Bar – an idyllic outdoor function space to admire the evening sunset glow. Following drinks, the guests then dined at the award-winning Seabelle Restaurant, which creatively draws on the native inspired avours. The members relished in the signature dishes, getting a taste for the resort’s numerous ne dining options, from degustation to edible garden feasts.
